SCS' Sustainable Materials Management(SMM) <br /> practice, which includes a diverse array of engineering and consulting assignments related to <br /> solid waste and recyclable materials management projects, has already benefited the County <br /> through SCS' previous work with Department. Our SMM practice encompasses work related <br /> to solid waste planning, recycling programs, residential and commercial collections, transfer <br /> stations, composting, materials recovery facilities (MRFs), waste characterizations, <br /> alternative disposal technologies, and much more. SCS understands the importance of waste <br /> reduction and recycling to the County, and is prepared to help the County achieve its goals <br /> related to solid waste and recyclable materials. <br /> SCS has built strong relationships with NCDEQ <br /> SCS has a good reputation and rapport with the North Carolina Department of <br /> Environmental Quality, which will be helpful in responding to their technical comments <br /> and compliance inspections. <br /> SCS is a full-service"one-stop" shop <br /> SCS has resources and capabilities to perform all of the services included in the RFQ and <br /> has past experience, as well as current assignments,performing all of these services for <br /> public-sector solid waste management facilities and programs.
