Preparation of drawing, calculations, evaluations, estimates, assessments, conceptual <br /> facility and site plans, financial assurance calculations, etc.; conduct waste <br /> characterizations, develop master plan drawings, provide capacity calculations, conduct <br /> feasibility studies, prepare drainage/erosion control plans, design and permit facilities <br /> and prepare permit applications. <br /> 5. Other engineering and hydrogeological services that the County or state regulatory <br /> agencies may require. Preparation of presentation material for public meetings including <br /> AutoCAD drawings, poster boards, renderings, etc. <br /> 6. Perform route optimization studies, assess alternative technologies and perform financial <br /> studies of facilities and services. <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: Sufficient funds to cover anticipated expenditures are available in the <br /> approved FY 2016-2017 Solid Waste/Landfill Operations budget. The projected expense for the <br /> remainder of FY 2016-2017 is $180,000 - $200,000. Estimated annual expenditures vary <br /> depending on regulatory imperatives or local project requirements. <br /> SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: The following Orange County Social Justice Goal is applicable to <br /> this item: <br /> • GOAL: ENSURE ECONOMIC SELF-SUFFICIENCY <br /> The creation and preservation of infrastructure, policies, programs and funding necessary <br /> for residents to provide shelter, food, clothing and medical care for themselves and their <br /> dependents <br /> Draper Aden Associates has confirmed that the firm pays in excess of the living wage for any and <br /> all personnel working on Orange County projects. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board approve the contract with <br /> Draper Aden and Associates Inc. for engineering and environmental services for the Solid Waste <br /> Management Department and authorize the County Manager to sign the Agreement on behalf of <br /> the Board. <br />
