i~- <br />Certified Oualifying Farm: A faun that has met the criteria as a "qualifying farm" above, <br />and bas executed the provisions of Article VIhA,including the conservation agreement as <br />specified herein.. <br />ARTICLE V <br />AGRICLILTITRAI., PRESERVATION BOARD <br />9 A, Creation <br />10 <br />11 An Orange County Agricultural Preservation Board, consisting of seven (7) initial <br />iz members appointed by the Board of County Cormnissioners, is hereby established, <br />13 Thereafter, the Agricultural Preservation Board shall consist of up to seven (7) at-large <br />14 members plus one member from each Agricultural District created and existing under this <br />is Ordinance, with members selected frorn Certified Qualifying Farms within Voluntary <br />16 Agricultural Districts, appointed by the Board of County Commissioners. Additional <br />17 appointments maybe made to satisfy the requirements of Section IV.B.I.b.of this <br />18 ordinance. <br />19 <br />zo B. Membership <br />21 <br />22 1. Requirements <br />Z.3 <br />2q a, Each Board member shall Ue a resident of Orange County. <br />z5 <br />26 b, Each Agriculhrral District existing pursuant to this ordinance shall be <br />27 represented on the Board by a person owning farmland on a Certified <br />2g Qualifying Fann within the District. The Board of County Commissioners <br />29 shall appoint the Agricultural District reprresentatives and shall make its <br />3p selection of a representative for each Agriculhiral District from an~ong <br />31 Certified Qualifying Farms within the District. <br />32 <br />33 c, The remaining members of the Board shall be appointed at-large by the <br />34 Board of County Commissioners to represent a broad range of agricultural <br />35 interests, <br />36 <br />37 2. Tenure <br />38 <br />39 Each member shall serve a term of tlu-ee (3) ,years, except that the initial Boazd is <br />4o to consist of two (2) appointees for tenrrs of two (2) years, two (2) appointees for <br />41 terms of three (3) yeazs, and tlu-ee (3) appointees for terms of four (4) years. <br />42 Thereafter, all appointments are to Ue for terms of three (3) years, with <br />4.3 reappointments permitted.
