27 1 2 a. Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee —Appointment 3 The Board considered making an appointment to the Nursing Home Community 4 Advisory Committee. 5 6 A motion was made by Commissioner McKee, seconded by Commissioner Rich for the 7 Board to appoint the following to the Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee: 8 9 • Appointment to a full first term (Position #12) "At-Large Nursing Home Administration" 10 position for Vibeke Talley expiring 12/31/2019. 11 12 VOTE: UNANIMOUS 13 14 b. Commission for the Environment—Appointments 15 The Board considered making appointments to the Commission for the Environment. 16 17 A motion was made by Commissioner Rich, seconded by Commissioner Jacobs for the 18 Board to appoint the following to the Commission for the Environment: 19 20 • Appointment to a second full term (position #2) "At-Large Air Quality" for William Newby 21 expiring 12/31/2019. 22 • Appointment to a first full term (position #6) "At-Large" for Alan Parry expiring 23 12/31/2019. 24 • Appointment to a first full term (position #7) "At-Large" for Alex Nickodem expiring 25 12/31/2019. 26 • Appointment to a second full term (position #8) "At-Large" for Sheila Thomas-Ambat 27 expiring 12/31/2019. 28 • Appointment to a partial term (position #11) "At-Large" for Jeremy Marzuola expiring 29 12/31/2017. 30 31 Commissioner Marcoplos said there are two other openings, for which the committee is 32 recruiting applicants, and asked if this is accurate. 33 Chair Dorosin said the abstract states that three openings will remain, even if the above 34 nominations were approved, and they are for: biological resources, engineering, and general-at 35 large. 36 Commissioner Marcoplos said there are several willing applicants. 37 Commissioner Rich said any applicants must fit these specific categories. 38 Chair Dorosin asked if there are any nominations. 39 Commissioner Marcoplos said he does not know any of the interested applicants, but 40 was interested in understanding the process. 41 Commissioner Price said she has served on this Commission, and said the Chair and 42 Vice-Chair typically review applicants, looking for those with relevant experience, and will then 43 make a recommendation to the BOCC. She said it does not have to be done this way, but has 44 been so typically. 45 Chair Dorosin said Commissioner Marcoplos is welcome to make a recommendation, 46 especially for the at-large position. 47 48 A motion was made by Commissioner Marcoplos, seconded by Chair Dorosin for the 49 Board to appoint Clay Hudson for the at-large position (#13) on the Commission for the 50 Environment.
