12 <br /> 1 IN MEN'S AND WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY <br /> 2 <br /> 3 <br /> 4 WHEREAS, on November 5, 2016, the Chapel Hill High School Men's and Women's Cross <br /> 5 Country Teams each won the North Carolina High School Athletic <br /> 6 Association's (NCHSAA) 3A State Championship meet; and <br /> 7 <br /> 8 WHEREAS, under the guidance of Coach Joan Nesbit Mabe, the women's team won its 11th <br /> 9 NCHSAA state championship and its second consecutive title, and the men's <br /> 10 team claimed its 10th state title; and <br /> 11 <br /> 12 WHEREAS, through hard work, dedication, teamwork, and commitment, the teams brought <br /> 13 honor upon themselves, Chapel Hill High School, the Chapel Hill / Carrboro <br /> 14 City Schools District and Orange County; <br /> 15 <br /> 16 NOW, THEREFORE, be it proclaimed that the Orange County Board of Commissioners <br /> 17 expresses its sincere appreciation and respect for the Chapel Hill High School <br /> 18 Men's and Women's Cross Country Teams and Coach Mabe for their <br /> 19 outstanding achievements, and for their inspiration to youth across North <br /> 20 Carolina through their dedication, teamwork, and athletic prowess. <br /> 21 <br /> 22 This the 13th day of December 2016. <br /> 23 <br /> 24 <br /> 25 A motion was made by Commissioner Rich, seconded by Commissioner Jacobs to <br /> 26 approve the proclamation recognizing the Chapel Hill High School Men's and Women's Cross <br /> 27 Country teams on winning the N.C. Recognition of Carrboro High School Women's Volleyball State Championship <br /> 33 Team <br /> 34 The Board considered approving a proclamation recognizing the Carrboro High School <br /> 35 Women's Volleyball Team on winning the N.C.
