2 <br /> ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> PROCLAMATION OF RECOGNITION ON <br /> CHAPEL HILL HIGH SCHOOL WINNING 2016 STATE <br /> CHAMPIONSHIPS <br /> IN MEN'S AND WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY <br /> WHEREAS, on November 5, 2016, the Chapel Hill High School Men's and <br /> Women's Cross Country Teams each won the North Carolina High <br /> School Athletic Association's (NCHSAA) 3A State Championship <br /> meet; and <br /> WHEREAS, under the guidance of Coach Joan Nesbit Mabe, the women's team <br /> won its 1 1 th NCHSAA state championship and its second <br /> consecutive title, and the men's team claimed its 10th state title; and <br /> WHEREAS, through hard work, dedication, teamwork, and commitment, the <br /> teams brought honor upon themselves, Chapel Hill High School, the <br /> Chapel Hill / Carrboro City Schools District and Orange County; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, be it proclaimed that the Orange County Board of <br /> Commissioners expresses its sincere appreciation and respect for the <br /> Chapel Hill High School Men's and Women's Cross Country Teams <br /> and Coach Mabe for their outstanding achievements, and for their <br /> inspiration to youth across North Carolina through their dedication, <br /> teamwork, and athletic prowess. <br /> This the 13th day of December 2016. <br /> Mark Dorosin, Chair <br /> Orange County Board of Commissioners <br />
