6 <br /> 1 o Fire Units can see where EMS units are located. Hopefully, as the SunGuard/OSSI <br /> 2 integrates with PageTrack or EMS uses PageTrack everyone can see everyone <br /> 3 else. <br /> 4 o There are many EMS specific features being used by dispatch areas that use <br /> 5 PageTrack for EMS. <br /> 6 o Here we see a list of closest hospitals along with information such as "the VA is on <br /> 7 diversion and not taking patients at this time". <br /> 8 <br /> 9 Page Track Features <br /> 10 • This is an example of the features that PageTrack has that the CAD vendor solutions do <br /> 11 not. <br /> 12 • There are many other features in the system. <br /> 13 • The best feature is the user interface designed by responder feedback. It is easy to use <br /> 14 in the mobile environment. <br /> 15 <br /> 16 Dinah Jeffries said it will not always be possible to have one technology that all entities <br /> 17 can efficiently and effectively use, but strides are being made in this area to integrate the <br /> 18 technologies. <br /> 19 Matthew Mauzy said this has been used at large events such as UNC games, etc., and <br /> 20 is also being put on ambulances. He said it is not just useful in Orange County, but also when <br /> 21 responding out of county to mutual aid calls. <br /> 22 Chair McKee asked if there is any interest in surrounding counties. <br /> 23 Pete Hallenbeck said two departments in Person County, some departments in Caswell <br /> 24 County, and Mebane Fire are using and evaluating it, and there is some interest in Chatham <br /> 25 County and Wilmington. He said there are also some departments in other states using the <br /> 26 technology. <br /> 27 Commissioner Price asked if everyone involved has the right smart phone to use this <br /> 28 technology. <br /> 29 Jeff Cabe said any phone can be used, as long as there is an internet/wi-fi connection. <br /> 30 <br /> 31 4. Training Facilities for County First Responders <br /> 32 <br /> 33 Background Information: <br /> 34 Emergency Services welcomes the opportunity to join others at the table for discussions <br /> 35 regarding a countywide training facility. Emergency Services has been coordinating to actively <br /> 36 reach out to state and federal resources gathering information that may provide guidance and <br /> 37 direction on best practices to pursue this venture. <br /> 38 <br /> 39 Jeff Cabe said staff needs to be trained, while protecting districts as the same time.
