1 <br /> ORANGE COUNTY <br /> BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT <br /> Meeting Date: December 5, 2016 <br /> Action Agenda <br /> Item No. 5-b <br /> SUBJECT: Zoning Atlas Amendment— Hillsborough Economic Development District <br /> DEPARTMENT: Planning and Inspections <br /> ATTACHMENT(S): INFORMATION CONTACT: (919) <br /> Perdita Holtz, Planner III, 245-2578 <br /> Craig Benedict, Director, 245-2575 <br /> PURPOSE: To delay consideration and continue the public hearing on government-initiated <br /> amendments to the Zoning Atlas until December 13, 2016 on an amendment involving five <br /> parcels south of Interstate 40 in the vicinity of Old Highway 86 and adjacent interstate right-of- <br /> way. <br /> BACKGROUND: As a result of direction given to staff at the November 1, 2016 Board of <br /> County Commissioners meeting on related Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) <br /> amendments, staff is currently completing revisions to the UDO amendments. This rezoning <br /> action is suggested to be delayed until the text amendments are ready for action. <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: There is no financial impact to continue the public hearing. <br /> SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: The following Orange County Social Justice Goal is applicable to <br /> this agenda item: <br /> • GOAL: ENSURE ECONOMIC SELF-SUFFICIENCY <br /> The creation and preservation of infrastructure, policies, programs and funding necessary <br /> for residents to provide shelter, food, clothing and medical care for themselves and their <br /> dependents. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends the Board delay consideration and <br /> continue the public hearing until the December 13, 2016 BOCC meeting. <br />
