32 <br /> arrb 1' <br /> The following resolution was introduced by Alderman Jay Bryan and <br /> duly seconded by Alderman Jacquelyn Gist. <br /> A RESOLUTION REGARDING THE PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO <br /> THE JOINT PLANNING AGREEMENT AND LAND USE PLAN <br /> Resolution No. 40/89-90 <br /> WHEREAS, the Orange Water and Sewer Authority commissioned the <br /> consulting firm of Camp, Dresser and McKee (CDM) to study and <br /> develop a range of options for protecting the quality of water <br /> supplied to University Lake by its watershed area; <br /> WHEREAS, the governing boards of Orange County, Chapel Hill, <br /> and Carrboro adopted resolutions requesting that the Joint <br /> Orange-Chatham Work Group review the report completed by CDM in <br /> March of 1989; <br /> WHEREAS, the Orange-Chatham Work Group recommended a 13- Point <br /> Agreement for University Lake Watershed protection, dated October <br /> 13, 1989, which proposed an agreed upon watershed protection <br /> strategy; <br /> WHEREAS, the governing boards of Orange County, Chapel Hill, <br /> and Carrboro endorsed the October 13, 1989 agreement, as proposed <br /> by the Orange-Chatham Work Group; <br /> WHEREAS, the governing boards of Orange County, Chapel Hill , <br /> and Carrboro jointly held a public hearing on February 28 , 1990 on <br /> amendments to he Joint Planning Area Land Use Plan Text, to the <br /> Joint Planning Area Land Use Plan Map, and to the Joint Planning <br /> Agreement supporting the, October 13, 1989 Agreement proposed by the <br /> Orange-Chatham Work Group; and <br /> WHEREAS, the planning directors of Orange County, Chapel Hill , <br /> and Carrboro recommended approval of the proposed amendments with <br /> Option 41 as the recommended land use control strategy. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CARRBORO BOARD OF ALDERMEN <br /> THAT; <br /> Section 1. The amendments to the Joint Planning Area Land Use <br /> Plan/Text with Option #1 as presented on February 28 , 1990 (Pages <br /> 14-18) , be adopted. <br /> • <br />
