Amend section VI Future Land Use ~ Join Rural Planning Area <br /> Area"ewriting <br /> the first paragraph of the subsection 1990 ID <br /> as described in (E) on the attached page 16 of the February 28, <br /> public hearing materials, and replacing the subsection "Water Quality <br /> Critical Area" with the following new subsection: <br /> University Lake Watershed Area <br /> The University Lake watershed Area includes all lands which drain into <br /> University Lake reservoir. Based on a preferred watershed protection <br /> strategy of land use controls as recommended by Camp Dresser and McKee <br /> in the university Lake Watershed Study, only low density residential <br /> uses are permitted at densities not to exceed one dwelling unit per <br /> ith <br /> five acres of Ali with a limited its including 4number or 5 acre 2-acre <br /> lo lots n6% wfor <br /> impervious surface <br /> 2-acre lots. <br /> Rewrite the third paragraph of the subsection "Rural Residential" to <br /> read as follows: <br /> To the west of Carrboro, Rural Residential development is also <br /> expected in University Lake watershed. However, only low-density <br /> residential uses developed at densities of one dwelling unit per five <br /> or more acres of land (with a limited number of 2-acre lots) are <br /> anticipated. For this reason, residential development will ontinueato <br /> rely on wells and septic tanks for water supply <br /> OWASA will be requested to conduct a study of the advisability of <br /> making public water services available within the watershed, and will <br /> be asked April to report to the joint planning jurisdictions by <br /> 1991 on its findings and recommendations. Public sewer will not be <br /> extended into the University w�llr�oenteplanning jurisdictions. <br /> F.health hazard or upon agreement by <br /> F. OWASA policy is to be guided by <br /> the land management plans approved by the governmental units in the <br /> area the Authority serves.
