The Board has requested that the <br /> Utilities Commission hold public hearings in Orange, Durham and Wake <br /> Counties which are affected prior to making its decision. Since the <br /> telephone companies involved support plans other than toll free calling, <br /> it is recommended that a Special Committee or Task Force be formed to <br /> develop strategies for convincing the Utilities Commission of the <br /> importance of toll free calling to the citizens of Orange County. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S) : Approve the formation of this Special EAS Committee. <br />
