During this time
I have looked closely at many of the trees along the
street rights-of-way in Hillsborough and made
recommendations relative to the maintenance and care needed
to sustain their livelihood.
There are several large trees on Churton Street, near the
old Court , are in a seri state decline.
Specifically, I recall an elmand wateroak thathave a
considerable amount of die-back in the tops . Because of the
restricted growing space between the sidewalk and street
curb, these trees continue to wild
present a hazard to pedestrians l
be very expensive to keep these trees pruned properly.
I realize the heritage and sentiment involved with these old
trees , but I recommend that consideration be given to their
removal and the replanting of trees of a species more
suitable to is what I have
recomm ended to
Sincerely,
M.
