The Board agreed to <br /> County appropriation of 125, 000 in the 1990-95 Capital <br /> Improvement Plan. We were asked to solicit additional <br /> funds from other sources to complete the project. The <br /> Old Courthouse Landscape Committee has met with <br /> members of other interested groups and considered many <br /> suggestions. The revised plan responds to major points <br /> stressed by the majority of participants. <br /> Please note that Phase I includes the removal of four <br /> dying trees along Churton Street. The Hillsborough <br /> Tree Board (see attached letters) and management agree <br /> that these trees need to be removed, as they present a <br /> safety hazard to pedestrians, vehicles, power lines <br /> and a potential liability to the County. Phase II of <br /> the plan includes replacement of these trees, with an <br /> expected completion date of October, 1990. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: The Manager recommends the approval of the revised Old <br /> Courthouse Square Landscape Plan and timetable. <br />
