3. Training <br /> Begin tracking training activity for County employees <br /> and analyze data in regards to the employees' race, sex, age, <br /> and handicap status. <br /> • <br /> . Implement an automated tracking/reporting system that <br /> will allow us to ascertain if female, minority, and <br /> handicapped employees are being given equal opportunity to. <br /> translate career interests/goals into training needs and are <br /> receiving the county management team' s support in an <br /> equitable manner. <br /> la� <br /> 4. Discipline/Grievances <br /> . Monitor and evaluate disciplinary actions , grievances <br /> and terminations by departments , and analyze data ( for <br /> adverse impact) in regards to the race, sex, age and handicap <br /> status of the employees involved. <br /> 5. Special Departmental Initiatives <br /> . Soil and Water . Emphasis will be placed on developing <br /> a pool of qualified minority candidates for the next vacant <br /> technical position so that at least one minority placement <br /> can be made. <br /> . Data Processing Personnel will develop a pool of <br /> qualified minority candidates in anticipation of future <br /> expansion. We will also explore the possibility of having an <br /> intern in this department from one of the protected groups. <br /> • Tax Assessor Personnel will establish a pool of <br /> qualified minority applicants for property appraiser <br /> positions for expected vacancies to occur between Fall 1990 <br /> and December 1991. The goal is placement of at least one <br /> minority in the professional category. <br /> . Planning Special emphasis is on the placement of two <br /> minority persons, one of which will be in the professional <br /> category. We will also explore the possibility of an intern <br /> from a protected group for this department. <br /> . Sheriff' s Department In an effort to broaden <br /> recruitment strategies and tap all segments of the Orange <br /> County population, ads will be placed in the local paper to <br /> announce openings.
