I <br /> E. EEO COUNTY-WIDE POLICY GOALS FOR 1990 <br /> 1. Recruitment <br /> Recruitment will be conducted on a county-wide basis to <br /> develop a workforce that continues to tap the best of the <br /> female, minority, and handicapped populations availability in <br /> the Triangle area. The EEO Officer will work with each <br /> Department Head to develop department-specific goals and <br /> timetables. These consultations will be completed no later <br /> Ithan March 31 , 1990 . <br /> Recruitment will also be conducted through channels that <br /> I maximize contact with qualified groups of minorities , <br /> females , older adults and handicapped persons. These <br /> channels will include such sources as the minority media, <br /> presentations to civic groups and churches, placing postings <br /> at women centers , senior citizen centers , etc. <br /> The county-wide goal will be to increase minority <br /> representation in the following categories (based on county- <br /> wide statistics located in the statistical-section of this <br /> document) : <br /> . Professional <br /> . Technician <br /> . Protective Services <br /> . Increase female representation in the following <br /> categories: <br /> Protective Services <br /> . Skilled Craft <br /> . Service Maintenance <br /> . Identify and remove any barriers to handicapped <br /> applicants and assure that reasonable accommodations are made <br /> for handicapped applicants who would otherwise be the best <br /> qualified candidates for county positions. <br /> . Implement an automated applicant tracking system in <br /> the Personnel Department to collect data regarding selection <br /> and placement in terms of the race, sex, age, and handicap <br /> status of applicants. <br /> �1 2. Promotion <br /> . Begin tracking all promotions and analyze the results <br /> in regards to the race, sex, age, and handicap status of all <br /> promoted employees. This information will be made available <br /> to the County Manager, Assistant County Managers, and <br /> department heads on a quarterly basis during 1990.
