Concerning the rewriting of Section II Natural
Environment Subsection B Water Resources:
The HBA feels 2-acre zoning with on site detention ponds
would allow property owners a reasonable use of their land
and still ensure water quality. Also, because of the
percability of the land, actual densities would probably be
much lower than 2-acre on average throughout the watershed.
2 . Concerning Section V Joint Planning Operating Principals:
The HBA concurs with the Town of Carrboro that a cluster
alternative served by central water and sewer is the better
method of protecting water quality.
3 . Concerning Section V Joint Planning Operating Principals:
The HBA supports option n2 which allows 2-acre zoning
with on-site stormwater detention ponds. As stated before,
we feel the entire watershed will develop at densities much
lower than 2-acres because of the percability of the land.
4 . Concerning Section VI Future Land Use Joint Planning
Area:
The HBA supports option r2 .
5. Concerning Section VII Overview of Implementation
Strategies:
The HBA supports a study on the possibility of allowing
public water and sewer extensions in the watershed. The
' landowners who are helping to ensure water quality should be
able to benefit from these efforts. . .not be penalized.
i-l •c4. e4ffJ at of trio •/taliana`aqssocioidon of diem.
