PUBLIC HEARING YES: <br /> ATTACHMENT(S) : ( 1 ) TDP Work Plan INFORMATION CONTACT: <br /> (2) Steering Committee Member- Jerry Passmore <br /> ship List <br /> TELEPHONE NUMBER- <br /> Hillsborough - 732-8181 <br /> Chapel Hill - 968-4501 <br /> Mebane - 227--2031 <br /> Durham - 688-7331 <br /> � <br /> PURPOSE: To approve the Work Plan for updating the Orange <br /> � <br /> County Transportation Development Plan (TDP) for 1991-1995 <br /> and the membership on the TDP Steering Committee. <br /> BACKGROUND: In order for the County to qualify for state and federal <br /> transportation funding, it must have an approved and enacted <br /> Transportation Development Plan. The present plan will <br /> expire at the end of 1990. The County would be required to <br /> provide a 10% local match for a state hired consultant to <br /> prepare the TDP. The Department on Aging would provide the <br /> match out of the existing C. A. T. transportation budget. The <br /> membership on the TDP Steering Committee includes a variety <br /> of organizations who will assist the consultant. The <br /> proposed TDP update will study the need for a rural public <br /> transportation system and expand agency participation <br /> in the Coordinated Agency Transportation (CAT) program. <br /> REDOMMENDATION(S) : Approve the Work Plan and the Steering Committee <br /> Membership. <br />
