23. <br /> 1990 PROGRAM SUMMARY <br /> COUNTY ROLE(Describe the county support or input Describe the specific resources time,money,personnel- <br /> that were used by the county to implement the program and how they were used) <br /> This is strictly a county initiative. The initiative, the development of a prototype <br /> and implementation were all done in-house. The Public Information Public Relations <br /> Committee members were department heads of the following departments: County <br /> Commissioners, Child Support, Purchasing, Recreation and Parks, Housing and Community <br /> Development and Commission for Women. Technical expertise and design were provided <br /> by the Planning Department. The Public Works Department installed all the signs. <br /> COSTS (Describe in exact numbers the amount of money used to fund or operate the program. List all sources of <br /> funding) <br /> The unit cost for exterior signs is $165.00 each. The unit cost for the interior signs <br /> is $225.00 each. The source of funding has been the County's General Fund. <br /> • <br /> • <br /> RESULTS (Describe the tangible results of the program: cost savings,service improvements,etc. Tell how the <br /> program benefited the county or community) <br /> The development of standardized signage resulted in significantly decreasing the unit <br /> cost of each sign. It also promoted uniformity and recognition of county facilities <br /> and made it easier for the public to locate county services. <br /> 4 <br />
