Describe the specific resources^time,money,personnel. <br /> that were used by the county to implement the program and how they were used) <br /> Orange County plays a vital role in the C.A.T program; first, <br /> by creating the coordinated system and second, by providing <br /> continued financial support for staff administration to <br /> to coordinate this effort . Specifically, the County provides <br /> funds for one-half of a transportation suppervisor, 20% of a <br /> CAT Coordinator, and 100 % of a CAT Dispatcher/Clerk plus <br /> office space, telephone, parking facilities and the base two <br /> way radio for communicating with all CAT vehicles. The <br /> County also operates and insures all backup vehicles and <br /> maintains eleven of the 24 vehicles in the CAT system that <br /> are operated by the County Dept . on Aging for the elderly. <br /> COSTS (Describe in exact numbers the amount of money used to fund or operate the program. List all sources of <br /> funding) <br /> Since each CAT agency is responsible for its assigned <br /> vehicles (driver and maintenance) , the exact operational <br /> costs for specific CAT agencies is unknown. The coordinated replacement of agency vehicles has <br /> resulted in over $ 340 , 000 in new and rehabilitated <br /> vehicles and two-radio equipment from the state with <br /> County government and local agencies providing only a <br /> 10% match ($34, 000) . <br /> 2. The monitoring of CAT two-radios installed in <br /> participating agency vehicles has provided effective <br /> communication concerning route changes and emergency <br /> situations. <br /> 3. The CAT Program arrangement for low cost bulk gas <br /> purchases has reduced the operational costs for CAT <br /> agencies by an estimated $ 7,200 per year. <br />
