Horner Ext 432 <br /> 1 attachment to follow <br /> TELEPHONE NUMBER: <br /> Hillsborough - 732-8181 <br /> Chapel Hill - 968-4501 <br /> Mebane - 227-2031 <br /> Durham -- 688-7331 <br /> PURPOSE: <br /> 1- To report the amount on current unpaid Real Property Taxes <br /> as of January 31, 1990 . <br /> 2- To recommend the date for the Tax Lien Advertisement. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> Mandatory per General Statute 105-369 <br /> On the first Monday in February in each year each County Tax <br /> Collector and on the second Monday in February in each year, <br /> each Municipal Tax Collector shall report to the governing body <br /> the total amount of unpaid taxes for the current fiscal year <br /> that are liens on real property, and the governing body shall - <br /> therefore order the Tax Collector to advertise such tax liens . <br /> For the purpose of this section, district taxes collected by <br /> County Tax Collectors shall be regarded as county taxes and <br /> district taxes collected by Municipal Tax Collectors shall be <br /> regarded as municipal taxes. <br /> RECOMMENDATION; <br /> The Board of County Commissioners- accept this report and <br /> set the Tax Lien Advertisement date of May 9 , 1990 . <br /> • <br />
