Unless a hearing is <br /> specifically held open by the Board of Commissioners, <br /> new information or evidence submitted by staff, other <br /> departments or agencies, or the public cannot be <br /> considered without readvertising and conducting an <br /> additional hearing. <br /> The proposed amendment would allow for information <br /> received after the public hearing date to be <br /> considered, if it is presented in writing, and it is <br /> made available to the Planning Board prior to its <br /> recommendation to the Board of Commissioners . <br /> The amendment was presented for public hearing on <br /> August 28, 1989 and provided for the public hearing to <br /> remain open from the date of the public hearing until <br /> the time of final decision. The Board of <br /> Commissioners expressed concern with allowing verbal <br /> testimony to be introduced at the Planning Board <br /> meeting. Additional opportunities for verbal comments <br /> could result in repetition of comments made at the <br />
