Fikes <br /> Results of Bid Opening <br /> TELEPHONE NUMBER- <br /> Hillsborough - 732-8181 <br /> Chapel Hill - 968-4501 <br /> Mebane - 227-2031 <br /> Durham - 688-7331 <br /> PURPOSE: To award twelve ( 12) energy conservation improvements <br /> contracts for the County's Energy Conservation Program. <br /> BACKGROUND: The County is participating in the N.C. Housing Finance <br /> Agency Energy Conservation and Housing Rehabilitation <br /> Program to provide energy conservation improvements to <br /> targeted homes in the County. Eligible improvements include <br /> the installation of storm windows, storm doors, insulation <br /> and heating equipment . Twelve homes have been identified as <br /> needing conservation improvements. <br /> The Housing and Community Development Department solicited <br /> bids from qualified housing rehabilitation contractors <br /> participating in the County's Housing Rehabilitation <br /> Program. Sealed bids were received from three contractors <br /> on January 10 and January 30, 1990 and were opened on these <br /> days respectively. Bid results are attached. <br /> Present program procedures provide that all housing <br /> rehabilitation contracts be awarded to the lowest <br /> responsible bidder. Staff recommends that these contracts <br /> be awarded based on this criteria. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S) : <br /> Approve award of twelve energy conservation improvements <br /> contracts to the lowest bidder as denoted on the attached <br /> bid tabulation sheet . <br />
