The original statement is in the permanent agenda file in the Clerk's <br /> office. <br /> A motion was made by Commissioner Marshall, seconded by Commissioner Hartwell, to <br /> , refer this matter to both the Chapel Hill and Carrboro Governing Boards for a decision <br /> ; and to the Orange County Planning Board for a recommendation to come back to the Board <br /> 7 of Commissioners no sooner than November 6. <br /> VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br /> 0 E. PRESENTATION <br /> 1 <br /> 2 1. TJCOG REGIONAL LAND USE GUIDELINES <br /> 3 The presentation was made by Ray Green for the purpose of presenting the Land Use <br /> 4 Guidelines to the Governing Boards. He stated that the charge to one of the eight <br /> 5 "teams" formed as part of the World Class Region program was to develop land use <br /> 6 priorities. This was to include a consensus land use plan for the region based on the <br /> 7 land use plans that have been adopted by the counties-and municipalities. The team <br /> 8 worked for a year to prepare guidelines. The first year of the World Class Region <br /> 9 program ended on December 1, 1988, at which time each of the eight teams made an audio- <br /> () visual report to the region. Since then, the guidelines have been further refined, and <br /> :1 recorded in a report. The Triangle J Council of Governments has reviewed this report <br /> :2 and commends it to its members. It is presented as information which the Council <br /> '3 believes will. be useful to local governments in their land use planning efforts. This <br /> )4 report is. incorporated herein by reference and may be found in the permanent agenda file <br /> '5 in the Clerk's office. <br /> 26 <br /> 27 David Godschalk indicated that this is a very important thing for the local <br /> 28 Governing Boards to get involved with. This area is already ahead of the game with <br /> 29 Joint Planning already in place.
