POLICY 4.16, "MEDICAL CART PROCEDURES" <br />PAGE 3 OF 4 <br />6. Drawer lettered (C) is identified for state inmates housed in the annex. <br />86 <br />1 This drawer is clearly mazked as letter (C) on the cart <br />2 Medications only for state inmates shall be placed in this drawer <br />3 Medications shall be in order by cell assignment <br />4 Medications shall be in order by cell and in inmate name by alphabetical order and as <br />medicine to be administered is listed on the M.A.R. from first to last medicine order. <br />5 Med passer shall look at the prepared package and insure the inmate's picture and <br />name match. (it is crucial that the med passer preparing the cart check and re-check <br />the drawer before leaving the cart for the neat shift med passer) <br />7. Drawer lettered (D) is identified for stock medications for all inmates federal and state. <br />1. This drawer is cleazly marked as letter (D) on the cart.. <br />2 Stock medications for state and federal inmates are stored in this drawer. <br />3. Medications shall be neatly placed in order by cell assignment . <br />4 Medications shall be neatly placed in order by cell assignment and inmate name in <br />alphabetical order for the Old Jail and A-Pod. 106, 109, and B-Pod order with <br />inmate name in alphabetical order For the Annea. All medicine in this drawer is to <br />be £ded in each inmate's name as the medicine to be administered is listed on the <br />M.A.R. from first to last medicine order. <br />5 Med passer shall look at the grepared package and insure the inmate's Dictate and <br />name match. (It is crucial that the med passer preparing the cart check and re-check <br />the drawer before leaving the cart for the neat shift med passer to insure that a <br />sufficient quantity of medicine needed is in the cart, either in the stock or in the <br />correct inmate drawer.) <br />6. WHEN AN INMATE'S MEDICINE CARD IS EMPTY THE MED PASSER MUST <br />C,O IN THE STOCK DRAWER. to replenish the INMATES medication WITH A CARD <br />FROM THE OVER STOCK MEDICATION DRAWER <br />" TT IS ESSENTIAL AND MOST Il1g'ORTANT THAT'I'HE MED PASSER <br />COMPARES THE INMATE'S EMPTY CARD WITH 'THE NEW CARD FOR <br />ACCURACY. <br />THE CARD THAT HAS'THE "LABEL REORDER " SHALL BE THE LAST CARD <br />USED BY THE MED PASSER <br />Med passers shall be observant and diligent to never use any REORDER CARDS before <br />all others are administered. <br />REMEMBER THE REORDER CARD IS NOT TO BE USED UNTIL ALL OTHER <br />CARDS WITH CHECK OVERSTOCK HAVE BEEN ADMINISTERED. <br />
