C.~oS <br />• The med passer will note the back of the MAR for any unusual medication issues. <br />• At completion of administration of medications, the Med Passer will review the MAR book to ensure <br />all medications have been signed as administered/refused, etc. <br />9. Med Passer wilt hourly check the Inmate Medical screening and Requests Bins for new <br />forms. New forms will be reviewed and action taken for appropriate requests and/or medical <br />information. <br />Medical requests for PRN medications shat) be placed in the Charts for Review box with the <br />Inmates chart attached. Jaii Health Provider shall 6e contacted for medication that the Med <br />Passer feels needs to be initiated sooner than the next scheduled Clinic Day. <br />Medical requests to see the Jaii Health provider should be reviewed for urgencylneed. if it is felt <br />to be an urgent request, Jail Health Provider should be contacted for discussion of the <br />complaint. tt the request is not urgent, the Medical Request and Inmate chart should be placed <br />in the Next Clinic box for the Jail Health Provider's next clinic day. <br />Medication orders obtained from a Jail Health Provider shall be documented in the Inmate chart <br />and chart placed in the Charts for Review Box. Jaii Health Provider shall sign at next clinic day. <br />Medication orders obtained to be initiated as STAT or Next Med Pass, shall be documented on <br />the Inmate's MAR according to Jail Protocol. <br />Medical Intake forms should be screened for medications to be initiated and significant health <br />problems (Heart disease, Diabetes, Seizures, AlcohoUDrug use daily, etc.) The appropriate Jai{ <br />Health Provider shall be contacted at time of review of the intake for initiation of medication. <br />Any Health problem in question of significance should be discussed with a Jail Heahh Provider. <br />Information about medications to be initiated (name, dose, frequency) should be ascertained <br />from the Inmate by the Med Passer prior to contacting the Jaii Health Provider. However, <br />obtaining medication information from the Inmate should not delay contacting the Jail Health <br />Provider for any sign cant length of time. if information is not readily available, the Jaii Health <br />Provider should be contacted with this information. <br />Med Passer conducting preliminary screening of inmate i.e.; blood pressures, vital signs, urine <br />dips, accu checks, etc. shall be written on the medical request forth. When completed the results <br />of each vital sign taken of any inmate shall be written on the inmates medical request forth and <br />be returned to the Nurse Practitioner (medical professional) file in the med room paper clipped <br />to the front of existing or new inmate folder. The Jail Health Provider shall be contacted about <br />above information obtained if the Med Passer feels information needs to be reviewed prior to <br />next scheduled clinic day. <br />10. Clinic Preparation <br />Night Med Passer responsibiliiy of Clinic Preparation is ongoing.. <br />• Inmate Medical requests received during Night Med passer shift shall be reviewed for urgency. Jail <br />Health Provider shall be contacted for orders. <br />• Med passer shall attach Medical Request and Inmate charts that do not need immediate attention in <br />appropriate clinic box. <br />• Evenings prior to clinic, the Med Passer will review the CIiNc Schedule located in Log. notebook, <br />Inmates listed to be seen will have their charts pulled, reviewed for reason for scheduled clinic visit <br />to ensure information needed Is present. Inmates chart then will be placed in Next Clinic box. <br />
