To this end, the facility will employ and contract with local health care providers who <br />are licensed, registered, certified and/or approved to perform health care services/functions in <br />accordance with applicable state and local laws. <br />SPECIFIC PROCEDURES: The Sheriff or designee will ensure that the jail detention facility <br />contracted local physician(s) or medical provider groups provide adequate health care services <br />to inmates housed at the jail. <br />1. All health care professionals are to be licensed, registered, certified or approved, as <br />required under applicable state and local laws.. <br />2. The names and phone numbers for all of our contracted medical professionals under <br />contract for the Orange County Jail shall be cleaziy posted in the Control Room to ensure that all <br />detention officers have access should need arise for the same. Detention Personnel who have <br />been certified. as med passers shall only administer medication as instructed by contract <br />Medical Professionals. Med gassers are NOT considered as medical professionals FOR <br />MEDICAL needs. <br />3. Under no circumstances will any inmate housed at the facility be allowed to perform any <br />health caze function in the jail, regazdless as to whether they may be licensed, registered, state <br />approved or certified to perform any medical function. <br />4 It will be the responsibility of the Sheriff or designee to communicate to all detention <br />officers who our health care professionals are and the hours/d they are ally scheduled <br />to work or when they are to be available for caring for iru~ ~~"'~f <br />Reviewed and Approved: `~ (/ <br />(Sheriff) <br />Date: ju-..y (, 2°y~ <br />~~ <br />
