3~ POLICY 4.09, "ADMINISTRATION AND CONTROL OF MEDICATIONS" PAGE 5 OF 9 4. Entry into the Jail facility medical office room is prohibited at all times. No detention staff shall enter the medical office room under any circumstances except by desitnated authority of the SHIFT SUPERVISOR OR CONTRACTED MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS. Each Detention shift shall have (I) or (2) designated MED PASSERS ADMINISTERING .MEDICATIONS TO INMATES. No one else shall enter the medical office except by invitation of the MED PASSERS, JAIL ADMINISTRATOR OR CONTRACTED MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS. 6. At no time shall the Jail administrator, Lieutenant, Shift Supervisor or any jail detention officer be authorized to enter the Facility Medical room to access prescriptive medications unless ordered or authorized by CONTRACTED MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS.. 7 NO ONE SHALL UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE HAVE A KEY OR BE AUTHORIZED TO HAVE A KEY TO THE PRESCRIPTION DRUG CABINET, THE ONLY PERSONS ALLOWED IO HAVE A KEY TO THE, PRESCRII'TION DRiJG CABINET ARE THE CONTRACTED MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS, MEDICAL PERSONNEL AND MED PASSERS. (when locked by them it stays locked) The only time anyone shall be in the medical room would be to get the medicine cart previously prepazed by the med passers or contracted medical professional), 8 NO DETENTION STAFF MEMBERS SHALL UNDER. ANY CIRCUMSTANCE be authorized TO HAVE possession of any keys OTHER THAN the CONTRACTED FACILITY MEDICAL, PROFESSIONAL, MEDICAL PERSONNEL AND MED PASSERS. REMEMBER: ALSO Under no circumstance will any visitor or inmate be allowed access to prescriptive or non-prescriptive medications. 9. Only med passer detention officers will inspect prescription medications and or the expiration dates of such medications to ensure that all medications aze up-to- date. Med passers will inspect expiration dates during med pass times. (NOTE: .Tail Inspectors may request to inspect prescriptive medications to ensure they aze being properly stored and maintained).
