Margaret Lane <br />Hillsborough, North Carolina 27278 <br />POLICY #: 4.08 <br />POLICY TITLE: SUBSTANCE ABUSE SERVICES FOR INMATES <br />DATE: TUL,Y 1, 200.3 <br />RELATED N.C. <br />STANDARDS. .240.3 (a) (8)~ .3201 (b (S) <br />3a <br />PAGE 1 OF 1 <br />POLICY STATEMENT: In order to protect the well-being of uunates confined to the <br />facility, Orange County .Tail Detention officials shall provide routine and emergency medical <br />services to inmates either suffering from severe drug OI' alGOh01 intoxication and to inmates <br />suffering from the effects of severe drug or alcohol intoxication. <br />SPECIFIC PROCEDURES: <br />1. Jail detention officers shall ensure inmates az'e provided routine and emergency medical <br />services to inmates suffering from severe drug and/or alcohol intoxication or suffering from the <br />effects of severe drug or alcohol intoxication, pursuant to the procedures stipulated in the <br />following Orange County Jail Detention policies: <br />A, Policy 4..04, "Routine Medical Care of Inmates; 'and, <br />B Policy 4.OS, "Emergency Medical Plan." <br />2.
