14 <br />POLICY 4.04, "ROUTINE MEDICAL CARE OF INMATES (NON-EMERGENCY) <br />PAGE 2 OF 4 <br />3. Procedures for Schedulins Inmate Visits by the contracted Medical Provider. <br />A. Routine medical care may be obtained by inmates pursuant to the procedures <br />outline in Orange County Jail Policy 4.0.3, "Medical Complaints and Referrals." Jail <br />detention officers shall also be responsible for monitoring the condition of inmates during <br />their security rounds and for referring any noted medical problems to our contracted <br />medical care providers. <br />B. Should a ,jail detention officer observe any inmate who appears to be in need of <br />medical care, he/she should immediately document his/her observations on a "Prisoner <br />Medical Referral Report Form," (see Attachment #1) and provide the on duty <br />detention supervisor his/her findings. The on duty supervisor shall provide the contracted <br />medical provider of the medical referral form once it is completed. If any emergency <br />does not exist the form is to be given to the designated med passer who shall be <br />responsible for giving the form to the contracted medical professional for evaluation. <br />(Procedure to follow for Nan-Emergency Prisoner Medical Forms in located in Policy <br />Manuel section 4.03 Page 2 of 2.) <br />C. Copies of all "Prisoner Medical Report Forms" shall be given to the on duty shift <br />supervisor, to give to the detention medical passer, who shall place the reports in the <br />contracted medical professionals file to be reviewed and evaluated. The contracted <br />medical professional will decide when the inmate will be seen or advise the on duty <br />supervisor or detention med passer what is to be done to attend to the inmates medical <br />needs.. The on duty supervisor shall be responsible for insuring all procedures are <br />followed and that the following information is placed in the Inmates Medical Log: <br />1. Inmate's name; <br />2. Housing location; and, <br />3. Date of the inmate's request. <br />4 Officer's name <br />5. Summarized Medical Complaint <br />D. Each morning after the breakfast meal is served, the Jail Detention Supervisor will <br />designate a detention med passer to visit each detention cellblock and ascertain if any <br />inmate has any medical needs. If any inmate states to the med passer that they have a <br />medical need the med passer being told shall complete a "prisoner medical report form" <br />
