Incorporated in December 1978. <br /> b) Agency's Purl.ose/Mission (no more than a few sentences): <br /> Our mission is to stop sexual violence and its impact through support, education, and advocacy. <br /> We envision a world free from sexual violence and all other forms of oppression. <br /> c) Types of Services the Agency Provides (buffet format): <br /> Client Services: <br /> • Crisis intervention services via 24-Hour Help Line including: <br /> o Emotional support, active listening, safety planning, suicide intervention <br /> o Accompaniment to the hospital, to make a report to law enforcement, to court, etc. <br /> o Information and referrals; case management as needed <br /> • Support groups and workshops <br /> o Traditional, discussion-based groups organized around trauma experience (e.g, a group for <br /> adult survivors of child sexual abuse) or demographics (e.g., a group for LGBTQ+ survivors) <br /> o Alternative healing groups organized around an activity such as yoga, arts, meditation, etc. <br /> • Latino services—All services are also provided in Spanish. <br /> Community Education: <br /> • Safe Touch — Our annual safety education program for preventing child sexual abuse <br /> victimization is in every elementary school in both local school districts plus a number of <br /> independent schools and private groups (pre-K through 5h grade). <br /> • Start Strong — Our multi-session, evidence-informed primary prevention program empowers <br /> students to stand against sexual violence in their schools and communities, preventing the <br /> perpetration of sexual violence (71h and V grade). <br /> • Parent & caregiver education — Our programs utilize both primary prevention and risk reduction <br /> strategies, teaching parents and caregivers concrete steps and practical tips for preventing, <br /> recognizing, and responding to child sexual abuse. <br /> • Professional training — We provide professionals (e.g., healthcare providers, law enforcement, <br /> victim advocates, attorneys, etc.) with custom trainings on the dynamics of sexual assault, <br /> providing trauma-informed care, and basic guidelines for providing effective support. <br /> d) Agency's History with Providing These Services: <br /> The OCRCC has provided crisis intervention services for survivors of sexual violence for over 40 <br /> years. Our highly qualified staff h embers regularly attend continuing education trainings and review <br /> new research to ensure that we are providing the best level of trauma-informed care. Additionally, <br /> we have the most comprehensive volunteer training program in the state. With more than 60 hours <br /> of training, our volunteer crisis Companions — along with our staff — provide expert support and <br /> advocacy services to 550-600 clients each year. Both qualitative and quantitative data show the <br /> high success level of our client services. As a leader in the field, our Client Services tea I regularly <br /> provides consultations for other anti-violence agencies.
