Abstract: NC Highway 57 Speedway Area Small Area Plan <br />Attachment Three (3) -Proposed Process and Schedule of events: <br />Key Dates: Proposed Activity: Product: <br />June 13, 2006 gOCC Review and Authorization: Authorization to <br /> commence project <br /> The Orange County Board of Commissioners <br /> reviews and approves proposal for Planning <br /> and Economic Development staff to begin the <br /> process of completing the NC Highway 57 <br /> Speedway Area Small Area Plan, <br />June 14, 2006 public Notice -Neighborhood Participation: Detailed letters informing <br /> all parties of the process, <br /> Staff shall send out notices to local property estimated timeline, and <br /> owners within the proposed area of the intended results of the <br /> Highway 57 Speedway Area Small Area Plan, Community Outreach <br /> as well as all property owners within five meetings, <br /> hundred (500) feet of the study area <br /> boundary, to inform them of the project and <br /> invite them to attend a Community Outreach <br /> meeting to begin the process at 6:30 p,m, an <br /> June 27, 2006. <br /> The letter will indicate that staff will be <br /> asking for volunteers to serve on an Ad-Hoc <br /> committee to assist with the completion of <br /> the project and that the County will <br /> continue to inform local residents of future <br /> Community Outreach meetings to review <br /> the constraints and opportunities of <br /> allowing for additional development within <br /> the area to ensure adequate neighborhood <br /> involvement with this project. <br /> Staff shall also send notification to the Planning <br /> Department's of Person and Durham Counties <br /> to involve them with the project. <br /> These letters will request a separate meeting <br /> with each individual department to review the <br /> work plan and scope of the project. <br />Week of June 19 Government Outreach: Designation of Person <br />through June 23, and Durham County <br />2006 Meetings with representatives of Durham and liaison to serve on the Ad- <br /> Person Counties to discuss the project, hoc committee <br />
