16 <br /> Community Based Grantsmaking Initiative <br /> October 3, 2017 <br /> Characteristics of Competitive Projects <br /> • Will "do the most good for the most people" <br /> • Demonstrate a timeliness of need and an ability to put grant funds to work quickly <br /> • Focused on action, not planning <br /> • Leverage additional funds —20% local Cash match <br /> • Will leverage previous community planning processes <br /> • Are sustainable <br /> • Have strong support from variety of county citizens/organizations <br /> CBGI — The Competition <br /> • $11 million budgeted for this initiative <br /> • Each county in the North Central Zone can submit 1-3 projects that total no more than <br /> $1.5 million per county <br /> • The counties in the North Central Zone are Chatham, Durham, Edgecombe, Franklin, <br /> Granville, Harnett, Johnston, Lee, Nash, Orange, Person, Vance, Wake, Warren <br /> and Wilson. <br /> • Not all counties will have funded projects <br /> CBGI Timeline - chart <br /> PFAP Cold-Chain and Co-Packing <br /> Regional cold-chain and co-packing <br /> • $120,000 to expand the existing freezer capacity <br /> • $160,000 to install the co-packing line and to hire and train staff <br /> Hillsborough EDD-Water and Sewer Infrastructure <br /> • Will serve up to 184 acres located along the Interstate 40 <br /> • Scheduled for completion in March 2019 <br /> • Grant funds will be utilized for design and construction work <br /> Eno EDD-Gravity sewer extension <br /> • 7,700 feet of gravity sewer infrastructure <br /> • Will serve up to 150 acres located along the Interstate 40/85 and US 70 corridor <br /> • Scheduled for completion in November 2018 <br /> • Grant funds will be utilized for construction work <br /> Buckhorn-Mebane EDD-Gravity sewer extension <br /> • 10,000 feet of gravity sewer infrastructure <br /> • Will serve up to 281 acres located along the Interstate 40/85 corridor <br /> • Scheduled for completion in December 2022 <br /> • Grant funds will be utilized for design and construction work <br /> Old 86 Light Industry/Flex Park- Town of Carrboro <br /> Infrastructure cost of a light industry/flex park <br /> • 3500 foot extension of sewer to the site and needed road improvements <br />
