<br /> The minutes for the meetings held on October 3rd and 19th were resd ty

<br /> Sem Jones presented a road net it ion to the Eoard for 1/f} of a mile in
<br /> BLngh¢m Township, The Board agreed tc inspect said road when they make their
<br /> next road tour.
<br /> The Veterans 9e mice Officer's monthly report w¢s reed by Chairman Hobbs.

<br /> unanimously passed, it vas ordered thst the Clerk to the Beard write the Negro
<br /> Home Demonstration State Supervisor that Mrs. Eonn ie Davis rvi11 be returninc
<br /> to her positl on ¢s Negro Home Demonstration Agent, after a years leave of
<br /> absence, on January 1, 1956.
<br /> Ltr. Lynch, Clerk of Court, nresont ed the monthly report from his pffic e,
<br /> He also reported that the recorder's court books and the superior court books
<br /> have now been competely separated ¢nd that with this sapsra tion ¢nd the
<br /> help of Mrs, Violet Bes on the booktseepine in his office was now satisfactory,
<br /> A disc usslon on blanket bonds was held after Mr. Lynch brought up the
<br /> question of bonds Tor county employees. Mr, Gattls had bids on blank et bonds
<br /> which had been requested by the Board previously. 'dr. Gat tic v:as advised by
<br /> the Bos rd to ac ce of the bid :vh ich met the spec iflc at ions set forth by said Eoar
<br /> to cover sil county employees. The bonding company accepting said County bond
<br /> must be sent an itemized list of ail employees so that ell county employees
<br /> will be covered, thereby, leaving no Tray for said bonding campeng to ssy that
<br /> ell employees were not covered by said blanket bond.

<br /> Sheriff Odell Clayton, vras anted his monthly report on arrest made,
<br /> conv!ctions etc. He also informed the Boe rd that the State Highway Depert:nent
<br /> had cut a road to the side entrance of the jail. Sheriff Clayton requested the
<br /> Eoard to reserve e special Parking area for the cars of the Sheriff's
<br /> Dep ertment. Upon motion of Comm issioaer Lenie r, seconded by Con:missloner Aay,
<br /> and unanimously passed, it was ordered that three pa-king spaces nearest the
<br /> east Bids ant r¢nce of the first floor of the courthouse be reserved for the
<br /> Shs rift's Department. Mr. Ge tt is was authorized to nut reserved parking signs
<br /> on this area.
<br /> Upon motion of Commissioner Ls Hier, seconded by Commissioner t;a lk er, and
<br /> unanimously passed, it vras ordered that Otis Freeze of Route 2 Hillsboro be
<br /> exempt from null tax under the statute giving disable vote revs this exemption,
<br /> Ch¢irmsn Hobbs resd a report from the 47elfare Depertnant. gi vi na the names
<br /> of persons Orange County has Sn the Adult Eos rd inc Home for the Aged in
<br /> Furl ington, Ii. C. Commies±oner "folk er stated that the balance of this fund
<br /> as of November 1st vvns ;7913.00 end et the present rate of expense of x252. C0
<br /> par month the budget of ;:1800.00 will not be sufficient to continue tho care
<br /> of the persons listed in s¢id report, and that the :'slfare Dena rtment will
<br /> need ad diti onel funds of appror.imately ;,1310.00 to complete this fiscal year.
