In Phase I,the <br /> Architectural Historian/Author(hereinafter"Contractor") will: <br /> 1. Conduct a thorough review of all existing written materials from relevant prior projects as <br /> outlined below; <br /> 2. Assess the value of these existing materials for the future manuscript; and <br /> 3. Prepare a concise narrative report that includes a proposed scope of work for Phase 2, listing <br /> the major tasks, proposed schedule and estimated cost. <br /> Existing manuscripts and materials to be reviewed and assessed (hard copies will be provided in <br /> advance to the Contractor): <br /> 1. Survey Report by Peck and Carter, 1992 <br /> 2. Chapel Hill Township Report by Little and Lally, 1992 <br /> 3. Mattson Essay, 1996 <br /> 4. Draft Survey Report by Martin and de Miranda, 2016 <br /> 5. Hillsborough National Register Historic District nomination, 1973 <br /> 6. Hillsborough National Register Additional Documentation, 2014 <br /> 7. Hillsborough survey update project report, 2017 <br /> 8. Hillsborough Historical Society Journal, Special Architecture Issue,Winter, 2004 <br /> 9. Draft outline for historical/architectural essay prepared by Book Committee, 2017 <br /> Overview of Other Existing Written Materials: <br /> The contractor shall review and become familiar with other existing written materials pertaining to the <br /> historic resources of Orange County and Hillsborough, including but not limited to the following: <br /> 1. Orange County Property Entries: existing written entries for approx. 100 to 125 surveyed <br /> properties based on committee's preliminary selection for publication;final selection of <br /> properties to be carried out in consultation with the Contractor(hard copies to be provided). <br /> 2. Hillsborough Property Entries: existing written entries for approx. 100-125 properties; <br /> properties based on committee's preliminary selection for publication;final selection of <br /> properties to be carried out in consultation with the Contractor(hard copies to be provided). <br /> These are included within the 2014 National Register Historic District nomination; some are also <br /> described in earlier National Register nominations for individual properties within Hillsborough. <br /> 3. Individual National Register nominations for properties in Hillsborough and Orange County for <br /> properties already selected for inclusion as per#1 or#2 above.(hard copies to be provided) <br />
