She would like staff to have further discussions on the other parcels.
A motion was made by Commissioner Price, seconded by Commissioner Jacobs for the
Board to separate the two items —and to acknowledge that the County is supportive of the
Town moving forward on setting a public hearing for extension of the Town's Extraterritorial
Jurisdictional Boundary (ETJ) over sixty-six (66) acres in the vicinity of Sunrise Road.
VOTE: UNANIMOUS
A motion was made by Commissioner Price, seconded by Commissioner Jacobs to
acknowledge that the County also supports additional staff analysis on how to best serve the
County owned park property on Millhouse Road with appropriate water and sewer options.
These options include but are not limited to:
• Determining if the future park bathrooms and other facilities can be adequately served
using methods other than public water and sewer, thereby negating the need for land
use and zoning changes, and
• Exploring other options that would allow for an extension of public water and sewer to
serve the park property without necessitating land use and zoning changes.
Further discussion of these options could occur at either a joint County/Town meeting or at an
Assembly of Governments meeting after staffs have had the opportunity to study and analyze
options.
VOTE: UNANIMOUS
Commissioner Jacobs suggested that David Stancil and DEAPR need to move up their
planning on the Millhouse Road property.
Bonnie Hammersley said DEAPR does not have a plan, except to work with the Town
of Chapel Hill to create a master plan for this area.
7.
