~~ <br />List of MAP Transportation Issues to Consider for 2006-10 <br />March 23, 2006 <br />Drawing from the MAP Accomplishments and unmet Objectives from 2000-OS (see attached), <br />the following is a list of Transportation Issues to consider for 2006-10 that aze not in any priority <br />order. Also, there is space to write down additional issues. <br />1. Need to expansion the scope, available and hours of specialized senior transportation from <br />medical to other services. (Example-Currently outside CH Transit- OPT is limited to Medical <br />and one non-medical trip to per week, 8-5 pm) <br />2. Improve ways to identify what older persons want in transportation service such as needed <br />routes, hours, etc. #19 <br />3. Need for an easier transportation service within and outside Orange County. #20 <br />4. Need for more training of transit employees on the special needs of older adults,#21 <br />5. Need to expand transportation to new senior centers from the rural areas not being served.. <br />6. Need for shelters and benches at OPT pickup locations to encourage/help older adults to used <br />existing public bus routes. #23 <br />7, Review ways to lower the cost for non-emergency non medical stretcher transport. # 18 <br />8. <br />9. <br />10 <br />
