<br />Objective #121: To establish anon-profit agency to operate the adult day health caze center <br />(Goal III-c3) and offer training and placement for certified nursing assistants (CNAs) and <br />personal care aides (PCAs) in a community-based and institutional setting, (Goal III-A -al ) <br />Accomplishment: Carol Woods agreed in November 2001 to assist Orange County in <br />establishing a non profit agency, for, frail senior services. The County Attorney and BOCC <br />was consulted and completed the incorpot°ation process and began operation in July, 2004. <br />Objective #122: Design and develop Orange County Senior Centers to meet the state criteria <br />for Centers of Excellence" and recognized as "focal points" for aging services. (Goal VI-A) <br />Accomplishment: Orange ('ounty Senior Centers have met the state criteria, However, <br />funds were allocated [o apply, for National Accreditation that meets and surpasses the state <br />criteria for Centers of Excellence. The process will be completed in spring, 2006. <br />Unmet Objectives <br />Objective #123: Establish a formalized evaluation program to oversee the evaluation of <br />County Aging programs, and the state of older adults living in Orange County, (Goat VI-A) <br />Comment: Lack of staff time and resources. <br />Objective #124: Establish an Aging Services E & E Task Force to investigate ways to <br />improve the effectiveness and efficient delivery of all county government services to older <br />residents. (Goal VI-A) <br />Comment: Lack of'staff time and resources, <br />Objective #125: Study the feasibility of establishing a marketing program within the County <br />Dept. on Aging to oversee the promotion of all aging services. (Goal VI-A) <br />Comment: Lack of staff time and resources. <br />Objective #126: Monitor the progress of the Master Aging Plan by the Advisory Boazd on <br />Aging by making necessary annual revisions and priorities for the BOCC approval. The lead <br />agency for each M,A.P. objective will prepare asix-month progress report to the Advisory <br />Board on Aging indicating the funds spent and progress toward its objective to be shazed <br />with the BOCC, (Goal VI-A) <br />Comment: GVhile the Aging Board monitored the progress and priorities, there was not enough staff <br />time and resources to follow up with each lead agency, for all objectives, <br />Updated March 23, 2006 <br />25 <br />
