(Goat V-A) <br />Comment: Lack staff time and resources.. <br />Objective #116: Study and implement creative ways to utilize the Baby Boomers as a <br />volunteer resource. PLANNING, ADMINISTRATION & COORDINATION <br />OF AGING SERVICES <br />GOAL VI-A: To improve the efficiency and effectiveness of Orange <br />County's administration and funding of aging services now and in the <br />future. <br />Accomplishments <br />Objective #117: Investigate the feasibility of dividing the responsibilities for Orange Public <br />Transportation and the I)epartrnent on Aging into two separate enfities. (Goal VI-A) <br />Accomplishment: The county transportation plan update in 2004 look at the, feasibility and <br />recommended that it remain under the Dept. on Aging until the r°egional transportation study <br />is completed in 2006.. <br />Objective #118: Assist the Triangle United Way in its new issues identification, planning <br />and funding process with improved public-private service coordination, (Goal IV-A) <br />Accomplishment: In 2002 the Triangle United Way endorsed the M.A.P. process and <br />agreed to have, joint meetings of its Orange County Senior Issues Team have bi-monthly <br />meetings with the O.C, Advisory Board. It has continued to date, <br />ObiecHve #119: Provide administrative support to the new O C Long Term Care Roundtable. <br />(Goal VI-A) <br />Accomplishment: The Department on Aging Director has provided limited administrative <br />support to get the Roundtable operational, but additional staff support and resources is <br />needed to make it effective. <br />Objective #120: Review and revise the process, if necessary, by which Community Block <br />Grant Funding is allocated and administered to various programs within the county, Funding <br />allocation should be directly linked to priority issues, (Goal VI-A) <br />Accomplishment: Annual meetings held each spring between the OC Community Block <br />Grant Committee and the TJCOG Area Agency to review the block grant funding, The <br />Advisory Boazd on Aging also reviews the Committees recommendation and approves its <br />allocation before submitting it to the BOCC in May-June each yeaz. <br />24 <br />
