DRAFT <br />Health Department <br />3 <br />7, The Health Department has received notification from the N.C. Department of Health and <br />Human Services, Division of Public Health of the receipt of $13,175 in Pandemic Influenza <br />Supplemental funds. Orange County was one of 43 local health departments in the State to <br />qualify for these funds due to completing a local pandemic influenza self assessment. <br />These funds will be used to purchase Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), such as gloves, <br />gowns, masks, vests for staff and volunteers to use during an outbreak/mass dispensing or <br />other event. Also, headsets for radio phones and medical bags to carry supplies will be <br />purchased with these funds. This budget amendment provides for the receipt of these funds <br />for the above stated purposes. (see Attachment 1, column #7) <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: Financial impacts are included in the background information above. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board of County Commissioners <br />approve the attached budget ordinance and grant project ordinance amendments, <br />
