Our current property manager, <br /> LaTanya Davis, is a Broker-in-Charge with over twenty years of experience that <br /> allows her to manage units that do not belong to EmPOWERment. She manages 7 <br /> rental properties that are privately owned along with the 40 units that we currently <br /> own. Ms. Davis has been the Property Manager for nine years, overseeing the <br /> Rental Property management program including but not limited to: rental <br /> counseling, apartment turnovers, maintenance, negotiating with vendors and rent <br /> collection. <br /> Reporting to the Property Manager is the Assistant Property Manager, Valencia <br /> Thompson who is also a Real Estate Broker. This role works with tenants, handles <br /> administrative rental duties, data collection and Website management of the Rental <br /> Program. Santa Nwachukwu, the Director of Community Programs, has a BS in <br /> Business Management and spends 30% of her time supporting the Rental Program. <br /> She manages registration of clients, phone calls and receives maintenance <br /> requests. <br /> Volunteers assist with administrative duties and apartment turn-overs. The four <br /> Bonner students are UNC students who spend four years with EmPOWERment to <br /> complete their work-study hours. They are trained to work on many aspects of the <br /> Rental Program with Ms. Davis and provide tremendous support. The Executive <br /> Director, Delores Bailey, has 14 years of rental property management experience <br /> with EmPOWERment, Inc. With the approval of the Board, Ms. Bailey researches <br /> and negotiates potential affordable rental projects. These units will be included in <br /> EmPOWERment's affordable rental inventory. <br /> h) Describe the specific period over which the activities will be carried out and include an <br /> implementation timeline. <br /> EmPOWERment Inc. holds two tenant association meetings each year. We bring in <br /> speakers to discuss relative topics to educate the tenants on any challenges they <br /> may be facing.
