maintain the collection of revenues due. The surcharge will be determined by staff from all
jurisdictions no later than November 30th of each year and approved by the managers of each
jurisdiction.
Once a new software system is initiated in Orange County, the proposed interlocal agreement
provides that the cost for yearly collection of tax revenues will be set at %Z% of total collections
for each jurisdiction, in addition to the surcharge for system automation needs.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: The current interlocal agreement produces approximately $140,000 in
annual revenue to the County from the three Towns, If the agreement is approved by all four
governing boards, staff estimate that Orange County's revenues would increase when the new
structure takes effect to roughly $170,000 per year.
RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board approve the Interlocal
Agreement for Collection as submitted, subject to final review by staff and the County Attorney.
