We believe that everyone <br /> has a right to healthy, fresh food, and that farmers deserve to make a fair wage — a <br /> system where everyone wins. <br /> c) Types of Services the Agency Provides (bullet format): <br /> • Hunger and malnutrition relief. <br /> • Access to fresh, healthy food for members in this community in need who would <br /> often receive filling, but less healthy highly processed, shelf-stable food. <br /> • Support the local farm economy for small farmers at a fair price <br /> • Provide reliable markets for local farmers <br /> • Connects local agencies with local farmers <br /> • Empower recipients to make healthier food decisions <br /> d) Agency's History with Providing These Services: <br /> Since our inception, we have collaborated with farmers, community members, and <br /> local hunger-relief agencies. We partner with all of these groups in order to build a <br /> healthy, sustainable food system in Orange County. These community partnerships <br /> are essential to the successful performance of Farmer Foodshare operations and <br /> execution of its mission.We believe that change happens through relationship building <br /> and community engagement! <br /> e) Other Pertinent Agency Information (Ex. Has the agency experienced any <br /> major changes in the past year? Is there a new Executive Director?Are there <br /> new initiatives?) <br /> • We have a new Director of Development and Community Outreach. <br /> • We have a new Community Foodshare initiative <br /> • The POP Market program is now known as the Wholesale Market program. <br /> • The Donation Station program continues to fortify the health of Orange <br /> County residents; particularly people facing diet or nutrition-related diseases, <br /> such as obesity, diabetes and heart disease. In order to expand this program, <br /> we are piloting a Community Foodshare Site Project. <br /> f) Schedule of Positions (For Entire Agency) <br /> • Full Time Equivalent (FTE) staff will be noted as 1.00; half time as .50; quarter <br /> time as .25, etc. <br /> Page 6 of 20 <br />
