Early Childhood® National Technical <br /> Assistance Center. Following the success ufT.E.A.C.H.. DCSA in 1994 also created the <br /> Child Care VVA[3E8® Project, which provides salary supplements linked to progress in <br /> educational advancement and remaining employed in the child care field. GE$0 <br /> operates statewide in North Carolina with additional programs across the country. <br /> Over the course of the 1990'm. DDDC and DCSA continued their work on innovative early <br /> care and education initiatives, launching the nation's first interactive child care web ai8a, <br /> supporting the development and implementation of North Carolina's Smart Start initiative, <br /> launching a Smart Start scholarship program in [)range Countv, and increasing the reach of <br /> child care resource and referral services across the state. In 1898. after much success on <br /> parallel tracks, but recognizing the need for coordinated and consolidated efforta, the two <br /> organizations, the Durham Day Care Council and Day Care Services Association joined <br /> forces to become Child Care Services Association. Since that time CCSA has continued to <br /> grow its services for chi|dren, families and child care professionals, and lead innovation in <br /> early care and education. CCSA has been recognized as an agency of excellence by the <br /> NC Center for Non-Prmfi1s, Child Care Aware of America, and the United Way of the Greater <br /> Triangle. <br /> e) Other Pertinent Agency Information (Ex.
