Since 2004, she has served <br /> as Principal Oboe of the Salisbury Symphony and also holds positions of Oboe and English <br /> horn with the Greensboro Symphony and the Chamber Orchestra of the Triangle. She often <br /> performs with the Carolina Chamber Symphony Players. Additional engagements have also <br /> included Opera Carolina, Carolina Ballet, Winston Salem Symphony, New Haven <br /> Symphony, Miami City Ballet and New World Symphony. <br /> [)r. Lampidis has performed throughout the United States as soloist and chamber <br /> musician. Orchestra tours have led to performances at Carnegie Hall, Kennedy Center and as <br /> far away as Seoul, South Korea. She has also performed at numerous regional and <br /> International conferences and conventions including those of International Double Reed <br /> Society, Sigma Alpha Iota, American Choral Directors Association, Florida Bandmasters <br /> Association, American Bandmasters Association, College Band Director National <br /> Association, North Carolina Music Educators Association and the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of <br /> College Music Society. Acknowledged for her beautiful tone and expressiveness, her playing <br /> has been described as "impeccable", '1ovo|y'` and "outstanding" in concert reviews by <br /> Classical Voice North Carolina. <br /> Dr. Lampidis's degrees include a DMA in Oboe Performance from the University ty ot <br /> North Carolina at Greensboro and an MM from Yale University, where she was recipient of <br /> the Lucy G. Moses Fellowship which is awarded to o student ofrxoepboou| promise/otbc <br /> field of woodwinds. Her BM degree is from the University of Miami (Florida). <br /> With a love for performing as soloist, [)c Lampidis made her solo debut at the age of <br /> 15 under the baton of legendary conductor and composer John P. Paynter performing an <br /> arrangement of Telemann's Sonata in A minor specially arranged for her to premiere with his <br /> band at Northwestern University. Since then she has won First Prize in several concerto and <br /> chamber music competitions. As a member of the Elektra Quintet she was awarded the Bill <br /> Willer 1st Prize in the 1999 Carmel Chamber Music Competition (California). In more <br /> recent years, she has appeared as soloist with the Chamber Orchestra of the Triangle, <br /> Salisbury Symphony, Carolina Philharmonic, North Carolina Symphony, University of North <br /> Carolina at Greensboro Symphony Orchestra and the Sewanee Summer Music Festival to <br /> name a few. She has premiered works by composers Michael Colgrass and Bill Douglas and <br /> recorded with composer Frank McCarty. She can be heard in recordings on the Albany, <br /> VoChor, Crescent Moon and Centaur Labels. � <br /> A passionate educator, Dr. Lampidis maintains a large private studio and is an active <br /> oboe and woodwind coach of chamber music and orchestral literature in North Carolina. She <br /> has also been a clinician for oboe workshops, and adjudicator for NC Governor's School and <br /> GMTA. She has also been an oboe instructor at the UNC-Greensboro Summer Music Camp <br /> for 10 years and most recently joined the summer oboe faculty at Bocal Majority/Operation <br /> Oboe. � � <br /> Dr. Lampidis also serves as umneonbnr of the o�u»ic faculty at Wake Forest University <br /> in Winston-Salem, North Carolina where she teaches and performs with the Faculty <br /> Woodwind Quintet and Trio. In 2010, she also joined the music faculty at Salem College. She <br /> currently resides in Greensboro, North Carolina and remains a sought after private teacher, <br /> clinician and free-lance oboist. <br /> DONALD OEHLER <br /> Donald L.
