DocuSign Envelope ID: 1BCF0634-CD89-4310-96E4-A32E6E1A91A6 <br /> 201748 OCAC Grassroots Arts Pr' ram grant application: Orange County Historical Museum <br /> Project Narrative <br /> Art& History. a Community Partnership: Orange County Historical Museum, Fairview <br /> Community, and artist Renzo Ortega <br /> 1, Please give a brief description of your o nization, including mission, board and staff <br /> composition, current arts pm grams and servkes and number and kinds of people sewed. <br /> Description: <br /> Historical Foundation of Hillsborough & Orange County (HFHOC) is a 501(c)(3) corporation <br /> that operates the Orange County Historical Museum (OCHM), a general history museum of <br /> Orange County housing a collection of historically significant Orange County artifacts <br /> Mission. <br /> To enlighten and engage our community and visitors from around the world by preserving <br /> and interpreting the history of Orange Co nty. <br /> Board composition: <br /> HFHOC board comprises an executive committee of four(board chair, board vice chair, <br /> board secretary, board treasurer) plus OCHM executive director and up to 11 additional at- <br /> large members (we currently have nine board members). <br /> Staff composition: <br /> OCHM staff comprises three part-time employees: executive director(30 hours/wk); <br /> museum coordinator (20 hours/wk); historical interpreter (8 hours/VA). <br /> Currents arts •ro crams and services. number and kinds of •zo•le served: <br /> Since OCHM has been providing a weekly, one-hour arts & crafts programs and craft <br /> workshops for special Fairview events for K-12 students. Held at Fairview Park, <br /> Hillsborough, NC, in the summer, the program moves indoors the balance of the year. Its <br /> current location is at OCHM. <br /> Participants are primarily (over 90%) Latina members of Hillsborough's Fairview <br /> community. Age range is broad, from three years of age to adults. <br /> Weekly class numbers run from five to 20+ students. Participation has been highest when <br /> artists are at hand to offer formal art instruction. <br /> Class members work,on projects involving a wide array of art and craft media. In the <br /> process, they learn new techniques and skills, like lino printing, weaving, and spool knitting. <br />
