He is a self-taught <br /> artist and has been creating art from a very young age, including paintings and poetry. In <br /> 2005, he moved to North Carolina where he launched his career in puppetry. There, he fine- <br /> tuned his skills by doing street performances with his puppets. He started working with <br /> Paperhand Puppet Intervention in 2008 and has been building puppets and performing with <br /> Paperhand ever since. Recently, Tarish shared his puppetry skills in a music video for <br /> national recording artist Missy Elliott, building and controlling the Pharrell Williams puppet. He <br /> also worked on an Amazon Echo commercial featuring Missy Elliott and Alec Baldwin as <br /> puppets. <br /> Tarish formerly taught at Just Right Academy, a private alternative school in Durham, NC for <br /> children with special needs. He serves as the Art Director of Black Space, a community <br /> organization in Durham, NC where African-American youth can learn digital storytelling, radio <br /> and spoken word poetry, and puppetry free of charge. <br /> Tarish lives in Chapel Hill with his wife and five children. His passion is promoting oneness <br /> through the magic of puppetry. <br />
