Mr. Pitre presented his original work, "Stories & Songs of Latin America,"
during which he shared many of the Hispanic traditions that were passed down to him
from his own family, bringing to life the culture of Latin America with puppetry, stories,
songs, instruments, and dance.
Li Liu brought her show "Traditions of Chinese Acrobatics" to grades K-2nd. Ms. Liu has
dedicated her life to training and performing acrobatic skills all over the world, starting at
the young age of six. During her show, students learned the historical significance of
traditional lion and dragon dances and were encouraged to think about what it might have
been like to grow up in a different time and place.
Bright Star Children's Theatre presented the play "Lincoln and Tubman" to students in
grades 3rd -5t11. In this production, Abraham Lincoln and Harriet Tubman came together to
share their roles in ending slavery in America and conveyed to the audience the
importance of education. The production delved into the childhoods of these two
remarkable figures and recreated key moments and events that shaped both of their lives.
