Describe the location where project will take place. <br /> Performances will take place in the gymnasium during the regular school day. For <br /> space considerations and developmental reasons, we divide the audience into two age <br /> groups consisting of the younger students (kindergarten through 2nd grade) and the <br /> older students (3rd grade through 5th grade). <br /> 6. Explain all project activities. <br /> We will host 3 artists for 6 performances during the 2017-2018 school year. The PTA <br /> selects and funds all cultural enrichment performances at Estes Hills Elementary School <br /> and assists the school in advertising and organizing the performances. Estes Hills <br /> Elementary School staff oversees logistics during the events. <br /> 7. Describe all artists to be involved in the project, how and why they were chosen, and <br /> the rate of payment for their services. If you have not yet selected the artists, describe <br /> the kinds of artists you intend to involve and how you will select them. (Schools, please <br /> indicate if you are working with The Arts Center's Arts in School program to secure your <br /> artists). Please include the ethnicity of artists or instructors hired for the project. <br /> We are working with The Arts Center's Arts in School program to secure our artists. <br /> Performance Descriptions for the 2017-2018 school year are as follows (total cost <br /> $4,400): <br /> Donna Washington: Multicultural Folktales from Anansi to Zeus <br /> January 8-12, 2018 (2 shows at$700.00 each) <br /> Donna Washington (African-American) presents a wide range of tales from many <br /> different cultures that can be mixed and matched to make a set appropriate for your <br /> school's needs. Donna provides a fast paced, interactive program that will excite your <br /> students about reading, biological sciences, the art of performance, and cultural <br /> differences and similarities. Her talks will enhance the study of ancient Greece, the <br /> African American experience in America, West African folklore, China and the <br /> Appalachian Mountains. <br />
