Anderson received her MA in English at the University of <br /> Pennsylvania, where she worked as an instructor. She also taught at Duke <br /> University and Duke Divinity School; she later worked as genealogist and then <br /> as a contract researcher in the Historic Sites section of the North Carolina <br /> Division of Archives and History. She has published over a dozen articles on <br /> topics in North Carolina history, industry, and genealogy. Her books include <br /> Piedmont Plantation: The Bennehan-Cameron Family and Lands in North Carolina <br /> (1985; repr. 2002); Durham County: The History of Durham County, North Carolina <br /> (1990); The Kirklands of Ayr Mount(1991), among others. She received the 1986 <br /> Mary Claire Engstrom Award for Distinguished Service. <br /> • Callie Connor has lived in Hillsborough for twenty-two years, and is Professor <br /> Emerita of Classics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has <br /> published extensively in her field of Byzantine Studies, her most recent book <br /> being Saints and Spectacle: BRantine Mosaics in Their Cultural Setting (2016). Locally, <br /> she has served on the Historic District Commission (Chapel Hill), Historic <br /> Preservation Commission (Orange County), Historic Hillsborough <br /> Commission, Orange County Cultural Center, and Preservation Fund of <br /> Hillsborough (secretary). <br /> • The late Craufurd D.
