Content for special area classes are based on the Arts <br /> Education, Essential Standards. <br /> C,VV. Stanford Middle, where All County Chorus will be held, is also in the Orange County <br /> Schools' district and is a sixth through eighth grade STEM middle school. They have <br /> approximately 608 students, and 38% receive free or reduced lunch. C.VV, Stanford Middle is <br /> one of the oldest in Orange County and is rich in tradition and history. White the school is <br /> academically driven, CAN, Stanford encourages teaching the whole child and ensuring students <br /> are well rounded. As part of this goal, the school has a vibrant arts program consisting of Art, <br /> Band -nil Chorus electives, as well as clubs, including Drama <br /> Summary of Proposed Project <br /> All County Chorus is a collaborative effort of all elementary music teachers in the Orange <br /> County Schools' district to give students an opportunity to participate in an advanced, large <br /> choral group with like-minded peers. Approximately 120 students (15-20 from each school) will <br /> participate in the program, which entails first working with their school music teachers for <br /> several months on 6-7 chosen songs, followed by a day-long clinic with a middle school choral <br /> teacher, and then a culminating concert, <br /> Project Goals <br /> The goals of All County Chorus are <br /> • To expose students to a variety of choral techniques that will enhance their vocal <br /> abilities and musicianship <br /> • To provide students with an advanced, large group choral experience <br /> • To give student vocalists an opportunity to interact and perform with like-minded peers in <br /> the district and showcase their talents for parents and families <br /> Descrimtion of Participants and Audience <br /> All elementary schools in the Orange County Schools' district are participating in Al County <br /> Chorus, which includes Central Elementary (275 students, 69% free/reduced lunch), New Hope <br /> Elementary (610 students, 64% freeireduced lunch), Cameron Park Elementary (644 students, <br /> 39% free/reduced lunch), Grady Brown Elementary (506 students, 51%fre-freduced lunch), <br /> Hillsborough Elementary (467 students, 17% free/reduced lunch), Pathways Elementary (383 <br /> students, 45% free/reduced lunch ) and Efland-Cheeks Global Elementary (417 students, 67% <br /> free/reduced lunch), <br /> The following is a breakdown of race/ethnicity per participating school It is expected that the <br /> group of students chosen for the All County Chorus Clinic will be a similar sampling in regard to <br />
